Why My Story Will Shock You… And How After 5 Hard Weeks, I Eventually Managed To Get My Well-Earned Six Pack Abs.

(I really never expected myself to write my case study…

(Why? Because I THOUGHT this program isn’t going to work! Read on…)

change Truth About Abs Review
Before
After
(Let me clarify… that is NOT me…)

I managed to get my cousin to take a picture of his body and send it to me for this review purpose…

Reason for taking my cousin’s picture: I want to show you how I kind of look like last time because I don’t have a fat tummy anymore! (uh, except I’m a little taller than him and darker…)

Now that is me, the proven me. I guess I don’t have to explain more in details already right?

But you have to read my quick story on to see how I got my six pack abs.

If you are wondering how I got from my cousin’s flabby tummy to my current state (sorry, I apologize if I sound proud but I deserve it.)

Read on to find out my story and about the training course I went through…

I’ll be totally honest with you and reveal what I LIKE and DISLIKE about The Truth About Abs Program…

What *FORCED* Me To Get A Copy of Truth About Six Pack Abs?

I got myself a girlfriend, it was sweet but until we started to get a little intimate. We started kissing and she dropped her hands near my tummy and realizes it was pinch-able.

LOL, that totally changed the mood. I could tell she was disturbed by those fats that I had. We stopped kissing. Oh well, long story short, I had to get rid of my fats. But I had no 1 to turn to…

I search the net and stumble onto the Truth About Abs training program. I was skeptical, obviously and think, ah must be another rubbish book on the net.

So, for a couple of weeks, I had been to the gym to train up (cardio, sit ups, crunches, etc…). My main intention was to seek a personal gym trainer to give me some advice…

But I never did manage to find one… I had to scrap that idea and NO, I’M NOT TRYING OUT ANY SUPPLEMENTS

Why I’m Against Supplements (My Stupid Reasons):

If you ask me why…

I’ll simply tell you because my aunts are always buying the “so-called” fat loss supplements that obviously supposed to make them LOSE fats and weight. Some even promise it’s a guarantee.

What a joke! My aunts are still big sized. Pardon my word and if I offended them or you in any way.

Another reason why I don’t believe in supplements is because I understand that it’s impossible for me to take $100 worth of supplements while having McDonald everyday and still achieve six pack abs.

You get my drive don’t you?

Well, here’s the simple equation which you will eventually understand through The Truth About Abs Program:

PROPER Diet + CORRECT Exercises = Ripped Six Pack Abs.

I know this simple equation, but I simply don’t know how to have the proper diet and do the correct set of exercises.

Well, that was until I decided to give Truth About Abs a try because it received lots of recommendation from people saying that Mike Geary KNOWS his stuffs and it’s a complete journey to six pack abs.

Who exactly is Mike Geary?

I’m glad you asked.

Mike Geary is a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist.

I never met him in person but I read some of his articles on magazines before.

He’s definitely a real person but I’m doubtful by nature and dropped Mike Geary a message on his help desk and my… he sure is friendly with his response. Try it.

What Is Truth About Abs About?

The Truth About Abs book is written by Mike Geary which over delivers in terms of content teaching you to have a healthy balanced diet for six pack abs, ensuring you take the best route for your nutritional needs and which fat-triggering foods you must avoid, etc… Basically, he educates you fully on your simple diet.

Later in the section, Mike teaches you his safe and effective abdominal exercises and full body trainings that got him a six pack abs. He also ensures you perform them correctly by pointing out common mistakes.

Towards the end, he provides you with his own advanced bonus secret exercises with pictures all documented properly in step-by-step format. Additionally, he throws in even more of his lean body tactics to obviously… stay lean!

Well, that above is the simple overview of the entire book. I read, implemented and got results from it.

So, here’s my review on what I LIKE and what I DON’T like about the book…

Who Will Benefit Most From This Book?

I don’t want to throw you a list of people. However…

Generally, if you are someone who wants to lose belly fats and flatten your tummy to get visible abs, you would benefit from this.

Yes, regardless if you are male or female. Mike has a training course for ladies too which I’ll be recommending to my lazy sister (it runs in the family…) after she has straighten out her thoughts. (Or when she gets a boyfriend, geez)

I can’t tell you how awesome the book is for the ladies because I’m a male……… okay obviously…

However, Mike Geary fully gained my trust and I recognized him as the expert in this field. So, the Truth About Abs female version should be as effective as the male version. Think about it, he wouldn’t release products that would tarnish his reputation in his arena… definitely not! Or he’ll lose all of my respect.

What I Like About Truth About Abs?

1. Overwhelming amount of content

Seriously, it is 140 pages long (with lots of pictures) but it definitely educated me from A-Z, especially on the diet factor.

If you are worrying that Truth About Abs under delivers, you will reconsider once you read it. I really felt my investment was worth!

Besides, Mike tells you what mistakes to avoid for maximum definition of your abs and for your safety as well.

2. Educated me fully on diet.

Yes, I know I said it above but I’m a COMPLETE beginner and know nothing about diet, however, after reading the first 41 pages which has a truckload full of information and facts on diet. I can feel myself being a food nutritionist already to a certain extent, on six pack abs.

3. Involves NO supplements or any MIRACLE pills.

Heh, you got me right. I did not read anything about Mike recommending any *MIRACLE* pills that can slash your body fats instantly.

However, I’ll be completely honest with you and he does recommend certain meal replacements proteins for the super busy individuals.

No, I did NOT take these replacements. Don’t worry…

4. Comprehensive Daily Diet Time-Table

OK I REALLY, REALLY NEEDED THIS.

Because I’m SO lazy and SUCK so bad at planning my own daily diet, this is EXTREMELY useful for me.

Thank god for Mike he included 15, yes FIFTEEN daily diet plans for you to choose from. Flexible… yeah!

Well, if you think this isn’t enough for you, you can just drop him an email and I’m sure he’ll throw you more! These 15 sure is enough for me.

(Okay, just don’t tell him I told you this. :P )

I know you need proof so…

Here’s an example of his daily diet plan: (I have to blur it for obvious reasons)

Detailed Time Table

5. A complete workout plan (10 different levels) with detailed screenshots and descriptions.

This is as good as having Mike beside you, telling you how to perform the exercises!

I find the screen shots that are presented in step-by-step in Truth About Abs exceptionally helpful and clear. Besides, he has descriptions to make it crystal clear.

What I basically did was follow like how my dog follows me.

I’ll show you what I mean (blurred out for obvious reasons)…

Detailed Exercises

What I DON’T Like About Truth About Six Pack Abs

I will be completely straight forward and honest about this as almost every book has their own setbacks, even Truth About Abs.

Here’s what I feel… You may argue or laugh at my reasons, I don’t care…

1. You have to devote TWICE a week for training at least.

I’m a freaking lazy person, honestly. Even if it’s once a month, I might not be able to achieve.

However, after the incident where I could tell my girlfriend is kinda disappointed in me (but she still loves me…), I told myself I must really work for it.

Well, partly because she’s really pretty + understanding and I don’t want to lose her! :P

Hey if you are not really to commit yourself to do these simple exercises, I would say DROP IT, go look for another solution that someone else has to offer you.

But truth about abs worked for me and that is why I’m sharing with you my experience.

2. Has too much content to read.

This is a huge problem for an average joe like me who is unable to sit still in front of the computer and read the entire truth about abs training program.

I eventually printed it using my office’s resources (LOL) and read it whenever I travel long distance in the train.

I do have to point out though that the exercising part is the most exciting section and that night while I was reading it, I got so sucked onto it that I read till 2am or so…

No, I wasn’t late for work the next day, thankfully. :P

3. Changing of diet

There’s NO WAY you are going to get your VISIBLE six pack abs if you don’t cut down on your diet. Let’s face it.

And yes, I had flabby stomach too so you don’t have to worry if you have one.

Ok, but I have to admit this is the TOUGHEST part for me. I’m a big fan of MACDONALDS. Sadly, I’m attracted to their FRIES with garlic chilli sauce.

Mike Geary calls it the Devil Fries“. Screw him, but I admit… it is now…

It’s ALMOST impossible for me to change my diet from McDonalds or Carls Juniors to egg omelets, chicken breast, roasted peanuts, skim milk, etc…

It took me 2 weeks at least to finally settle down on a new diet. I’m different because of my passion for McDonalds.

Final Advice For You While Reading Truth About Abs

1. Print it out. (much easier for you to refer to while you are doing your workouts)

2. Take notes while you are reading.

3. NEVER GIVE UP.

I may suck at everything else but thank god I did not give up when I went through Truth About Abs…

4. Start working on your diet immediately after reading and don’t drag like me.

5. Print out your current picture and paste it on the wall and check back every week to watch the gradual change. (This is one big mistake on my part that I did not do but I challenge you to do so to watch the change, it gives you a temporary ego boost, really.)

Is Truth About Abs Worth The Investment? Should I?

If you ask me directly, YES, of course. I stand firm on this decision.

It’s not too much money to invest and as always, look at the rewards you will get in return from truth about abs.

You can try hopping onto the bench on a sunny Sunday afternoon and watch how the girls AND guys stare at you.

As for me, they always pay close attention to my six pack abs rather than my friends who are better looking than me (but without six pack abs).

I got to tell you, it’s a HUGE ego boost, really. You’ll understand fully once you have it!

I’m really happy I took the courage to drop my doubts about truth about abs and willingly forked out the cash for this cheap investment instead of trying to go out there looking for miracle pills or other fitness books which they consider experts.

Oh just in case you missed it later, Mike throws you about 7 free bonuses which I find the Stability Ball Killer Abs Workouts bonus eBook and Ultimate Stair Exercises bonus e-book exceptionally useful to help add more effective abdominal exercises for a beginner like me.

It’s very rewarding. The Truth About Abs is worth the investment.

You can get your copy and read more about the book here -

I sincerely hope this review totally cleared the doubts you had!

How I loss weight. My Fat Burning Furnace Story

Featured

Hey Kristy here.

My name is Kristy and I’m 28 years old. I made this small blog to tell my weight loss story. Just last year, I was NOTHING like my picture above.

Up until about a year ago, I was very unhappy. I was overweight, had low self-esteem and had been recently divorced (my husband was not attracted to me anymore).

I had decided that I would stop whining and do something about my situation. So, I started trying out all kinds of stuff to lose weight. Check out my story…

Fat burning Furnace: Did It Really Help or Is It A Scam?

You’re reading my uncensored review of what I really though about Fat Burning Furnace and if it really helped me burn all my extra fat.
Please note that this is a review though, if you’re looking to visit the FBF official website, then click here.

Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking about buying Fat Burning Furnace, there weren’t many honest reviews around, so I though I’d write one quickly to help any of you in the same position I was.

I’m really excited to share my story and I’ll be revealing all good and bad points about FBF in my review so lets start… :)

My husband Dan and I separated after 3 years of our marriage mainly because he was not attracted to me anymore and things kept falling apart

Being overweight shook down my self-esteem and I used to be quite underconfident. Naturally, I got zero attention from guys and I lost my sense of direction. :(

Soon after my divorce, I took matters into my own hands because I was sick and tired of it and wanted to do something about it.

I tried fad diets in the beginning because it seemed that eating right would help in weight loss. However, after about 2 months of Atkins diet, 3 day diet, and 7 day diet – I had managed to lose 2 lbs. Damn!

Then I joined the gym and decided to exercise regularly and burn fat using cardio. It went well for a month and half, but its REALLY hard to exercise each and every day regularly. However, I did lose 5 lbs but it wasn’t enough.

Then I tried out a combination of running, gymming, and dieting for 2 months and it didn’t work either. I wasn’t getting anywhere  and I felt really frustrated with myself. :?

Eventually I stumbled upon Rob Poulos’ Fat Burning Furnace. Everything about FBF made perfect sense because it talked about eating right, exercising right (just 15 mins a day, 3 days a week), sleeping right, and basically leading a stress-free life and yet losing tremendous amount of fat very quickly.

After about a month of following Fat Burning Furnace program word-to-word, I had managed to lose 15 lbs. I was ecstatic. I actually ENJOYED following this program and was looking better everyday. After about 5 months, I had lost 35 lbs with FBF and overall 40 lbs since I started my journey. :P

Please be warned that the Fat Burning Furnace program does have a small flaw. Its a huge 160+ page guide and you may face some confusion while reading it because it talks about a lot of different techniques to lose weight. However, to get rid of this problem, I recommend that after you download the Fat Burning Furnace guide – take a printout and read it at least 2 times.

Another way you can really improve your experience with the Fat Burning Furnace system is by getting access to the Fat Burning Furnace Blowtorch training because it shows targeted techniques to burn fat located in the belly, butt, thighs, chest etc. There are videos that helped me out as well.

Now I look great, feel great and am much more confident than before. I recently stumbled into Dan, and he couldn’t recognize me for a few seconds and later I really enjoyed the “Wow” look on his face. ;)

I hope my story shall inspire you to take the right step and I recommend that you check out Fat Burning Furnace before wasting time with other ridiculous “programs”.

How to Experience Fast Yet Easy Fat Loss

You may think that fat loss is a difficult, slow process or even a lifelong goal. I can almost guarantee that there is a much simpler solution that will allow you shed fat faster and easier than you imagined. In fact, by the time you finish this article, you’ll learn the easiest ways to set up your fat loss program to achieve success.

1) The first step to success is PLAN. Plan your weekly meals, your workouts, or follow a well thought out program from a reputable expert, offer guaranteed satisfaction or a refund. The reason planning is first is simple: without an exact plan in place, you won’t know exactly what to do for results and you won’t know what to change if results don’t follow your efforts. By taking some time every week to plan, you’ll save yourself from frustration and wasted time while achieving rapid results.

2) The second, actually non-essential but crucially helpful, step is preparing your own foods. They cost less to make every single time, are almost always healthier and lower calorie and even though they take time to prepare, they’re often the single difference between success and failure. By making your own foods, you monitor exactly what you eat and how much you plan on eating at the meal. With pre-made food, you can’t subtract calories or additives. Preparing your own food can be as simple as cutting a watermelon and putting it into Tupperware versus buying it precut at double the price. This single simple step will show you that weight loss doesn’t have to be expensive or restricting.

3) The most critical step possible is a specific goal for your efforts: diet to lose fat and exercise to build muscle. Diets are hands-down the most effective way to lose weight, since it’s much easier to cut out 2 table spoons of oil (300 calories) than sprint for 20 minutes. Your diet is a much more time and energy-efficient method of cutting calories than exercise; for this reason, unless you’re extremely skinny, diets should always focus on weight loss. Exercising to make up for eaten calories is not only time consuming but difficult, it speeds up fat loss on a well-developed diet but can’t replace the diet. Resistance training is very effective at building muscle and even burns calories in the process. A well-developed resistance training program will only speed up and amplify your results, but promotes muscle gain significantly more than fat loss.

How I lost weight on Atkins

Cas O’Connor

Cas O’Connor – Age 38- Georgia

I lost 70

My Story

MY STORY:
Oh my, YES, I have lost weight and gotten healthy thanks to Dr. Atkins’ work. I thank my lucky stars every, single day that I learned about the low-carb approach from my doctor.

Basically, I was a willowy teenager (32-30-32), but the Metabolism Fairy caught up with me in college. I went from 130-135 lbs. to about 180 lbs. fast, especially when I got married and hung out with the church crowd and all its potlucks and after-service buffet runs. After I went on a hormonal birth control method, I gained even more weight – and when my mom came up with a recurrence of cancer, the stress of caretaking (and her habit of keeping tons of candy, cake and ice cream around the house) brought me to 190 lbs.

When I hit 31 years old, I realized I needed to lose weight. At first my doctor, tried the normal stuff – telling me to stop eating so much pasta, rice and sugar. I tried it, but cravings killed me. I went up to 200 lbs. He tried putting me on Meridian, a weight-loss drug that had just come out, but it gave me heart palpitations. By then, I was around 210 lbs. It was around October 2001. I had acid reflux, was taking insulin orally, and was “this close” to being a full-blown type II diabetic. I took additional pills for lactose intolerance and year-round allergies. I literally took elevators to get to the 2nd floor. I had no energy and I was sick all the time. I was wearing size 20 pants, but had to leave them unbuttoned to squeeze into them. They were fraying at the inner leg seams like all my jeans did (I bet every big girl reading this will recognize THAT problem!). I measured 44-40-44, so I told people I was “curvey” and “hourglass-shaped” – but I knew I was shaped like an Italian sausage. My doctor looked right at me and said, “Honey, if you don’t lose weight by Christmas, you will be needle dependent.”

Right then I realized just how bad a hole I’d dug for myself. He was talking, but I barely even heard him. Finally, I realized he was talking about Sugar Busters. I said, “Wait, isn’t that like the Atkins Diet?” I’d heard of it, but knew nothing about it except that it was some weird diet where you could eat hamburger patties but not the buns with them. He said “yes,” Sugar Busters was a bit like that, not as extreme. I said, “If I’m going to go to all that trouble, why not just do Atkins instead?” He said, “I can’t flat out tell you to do that, but I think if you want to, it’d be all right.” On the way home from the doctor’s office, I bought a copy of The New Diet Revolution from Wal-Mart. The 300-pound clerk, who could barely even fit in her little register stall, looked at it and said, “Isn’t that the one where you can’t eat bread? I couldn’t do that.” I said, “I think so, but I’m willing to try anything right now.” I read the whole book over the next two days and then threw out everything in the house that wasn’t listed on its Induction pages.

I went 100% gung-ho on the diet. By day 3, I felt like an Energizer battery! My best friend and I watched as the pounds literally melted off during that first two weeks. When I visited my mother to take care of her, she told me, “I was worried you were on some fad diet, but you’re always eating, so it must be all right.” And I was! I ate better on Atkins than I had in my entire adult life, and I was learning to cook better than I ever had. I ate stuff I’d never even heard of – celeriac, fennel root (which I still love to death and consider a special treat), spaghetti squash, and more. And the weight kept coming off. Encouraged, some months later I began making a Renaissance costume with my new measurements, which at the time were about a size 16-18. I was so thrilled.

I can’t say I was even tempted by all the treats everybody else ate. I got so tired of people saying, “Oh, I could NEVER give up bread!” You know what? You’d be shocked what you could give up if a life of sticking yourself with needles was the alternative! No cake tastes as good as losing all that hideous weight. I began to realize just how pointless and awful most bread-type products are. They’re not even worth the cheat. They’re horrible, like Styrofoam and paste, especially commercial white and even wheat breads.

I finished my Renaissance costume around March 2003. And to my astonishment, it had to be taken in about 5″! My mom and I just laughed our butts off, but thankfully she was an expert seamstress and could help me with the alterations. Weight loss had affected my body in such weird ways. My shoulders had gotten narrower. My feet had gone from an 8.5W to an 8 normal width! I could buy shoes like normal girls now – it’s impossible to find nice shoes in wide widths. My neck had shrunk, my rings were loose, and it was like I’d entered some glorious playground just for myself. I realized somewhere during that time that I no longer suffered heartburn, allergies, or lactose intolerance. I wasn’t sure when they went away, but they were apparently not allowed into the playground. The hospital had my mom on the 5th floor, and I made a big point of taking the stairs instead of the elevator. It was tiring at first, but I got used to it – it felt so good to be able to climb stairs!

My mother died in July 2003, and I had to go buy a new suit for her funeral. I was a size 14 by then and absolutely nothing fit; my sister barely recognized me when she flew in. Later on, I bought my first fancy gown, for a date – a long, slim sheath of asymmetrical silk chiffon that I wasn’t expecting to fit into or look good in at a size 12. It fit. Six months later, in 2004, I went bikini shopping. My energy level and the very obvious reductions in my size kept me motivated.

Four years later, I maintain myself around 150 pounds. I just bought two pairs of size 10 jeans and some size M shirts – I can walk into any store in the mall and find clothes that fit and look great. My boyfriend makes a point of telling me how beautiful he thinks I am and we have a very active lifestyle – camping, hiking, and walking everywhere. And best of all, my blood work is perfect – my cholesterol went from 300 to 200, my LDL went from dangerous to normal, my HDLs went from nonexistent to just a hair under normal, and my insulin went from 70 to 7. My blood pressure went from 145/85 to 125/70. I’m as healthy inside as I look outside.

I can’t even tell you how much better I feel nowadays. My jeans don’t wear through at the inner seams anymore. I have the energy of a teenager and NOBODY ever guesses my age (I’m 38) – but usually I’m pegged for 24-25. I will say this: I haven’t had a piece of commercial white bread, a Twinkie, or a Lil Debbie snack in five years. I don’t even buy processed food much, beyond salad dressings. I did learn to bake, simply because I feel if I’m going to “cheat” a bit, it’ll be with foods that are worth it – so my cornbread, fudge, and Tuscan sourdough are famous. But I eat these foods as treats, sparingly and infrequently.

The only hard parts of following this way of eating, honestly, are eating out and having a partner who is not only not low-carb, but vegetarian. It’s a real challenge to find dishes we can both eat, and restaurant eating is so full of potential speed bumps! But by now, I’m good at damage control; I know my body has evolved to be able to have infrequent feasts, so it’s okay to do it once in a while. I’ll never go back to “normal” eating, though. As good as some of it was, none of it was worth going back to where I was in the early part of 2002. NONE of it. To those who’d say in that lofty tone, “Oh, I could NEVER give up bread!” I think: “Then that bread you couldn’t give up will be your fluffy, puffy, starchy, yeasty, pasty white tombstone.” I’d far rather eat real food, good food, food I’ve prepared with my own two hands, food that’s actually good for me and good TO me, than any of that over-processed junk that passes for a standard American’s diet.
MY GOALS:
To get my out-of-control health under control.

HOW ATKINS HELPED ME GET THERE:
I have used some Atkins products in my weight-loss efforts. I loved the praline sauce and those crunchy apple breakfast bars. I still use the Thicken/Thin NotStarch and, oh man, Endulge bars just rock. When I need a real sweet treat, I love the Atkins chocolate ice cream they used to make  – perfectly portioned! I’d make whipped cream and make chocolate sundaes with sliced almonds and drizzled with a bit of Godiva liqueur just for taste (yes, I know it has sugar, but 1-2tb didn’t slow me down).

Strangely, my desire for sweet things in general have declined to the point where I really don’t eat that stuff much anymore. But I thought I’d mention I liked them and that I thought it helped to have “legal” stuff to snack on when I was beginning my journey. I’ll be honest with you: the main attraction of the Atkins system was that it didn’t involve buying tons of processed junk like NutriSystem and Jenny Craig. It was natural food, made by hand, that drew me to it and made so much sense. But I did use some of the Atkins products and thought they were helpful.

Nowadays, I love seeing my shopping cart compared to the other people in line. Mine has produce, frozen veggies/fruit (frozen cherries taste just like popsicles!), fresh meat, maybe some herbal tea, compared to Lunchables, two-liter soda bottles, convenience frozen dinners and premade PBJs. I’m the ultimate Atkins poster girl and I’m never afraid to tell people how I lost 70 pounds AND kept it off.

I read of Dr. Atkins’ death some time ago and wished I could have told him he’d made such a huge difference in my life. I genuinely wish he could have seen where I came from and where I am now. Best wishes to EVERYBODY who’s considering this lifestyle change! If I could do it, so can everybody else! You all have my greatest thanks. You helped me save my life.

    Success Story: Emma

aka “Ms RnB” on weight loss resources

Emma’s bid to lose weight for her wedding in May has given her the motivation to lose over 2½stone.

    Dieting History

I have tried most of the popular diets on the market over the past 14 years: Rosemary Conley; Weight Watchers; a version of the Atkins; blood group diet; anti-candida diet; Little Black Dress diet; cabbage soup diet; cucumber and cottage cheese diet; I am currently using the GI diet books in conjunction with WLR.

Have you Dieted Before and Regained the Weight?

YES!! Unfortunately this is the embarrassing story of my life. My friends (who are spread to the four corners of the globe) never know how to expect me when we meet, as my size changes so frequently!

My weight has yo-yo’d crazily over the past decade, going from 78kg to 63kg in the space of 4 months, then back up to 72kg, down again to mid-60s etc etc. The heaviest I have ever been was last Summer when I weighed in at 88kg (I think that’s about 14 stone), and yet only 18 months ago I weighed 70kg.

Worryingly, the weight gain is getting greater each time I have an upward spiral.

How Being Overweight has Affected you…

My weight unfortunately is a great determiner in my life and can dictate whether I am happy or sad, sociable or reclusive, snappy or easy going and so on.

There is a direct link between my weight (and my perception of my weight) and those periods of my life where I did a lot and achieved a lot (when I was “thin”) and those times where my relationships with family, friends and my boyfriend suffered and I did very little (when I was “fat”).

I am naturally quite an outgoing and sociable person, but my weight can sometimes undermine this entirely. Although I do not think I have noticed peoples’ perceptions of me changing according to my size, I would say that their attitudes change based upon mine, as who wants to talk to someone who obviously feels uncomfortable talking to them?

When I was at university there were occasions when I would get up and feel so terribly fat (even though at that time I was not), that I would walk the 25mins to campus and be so distraught about my size I would have to walk home again. I still have bad days but they do not affect me in the same way as they used to.

I would never avoid work because of it, but I do not feel comfortable going out at the weekend to pubs or bars where I have to stand up, as I feel conspicuously large in a sea of skinny girls, and I cannot wear short skirts or hipster jeans which might make me “blend in” because then I’d be the “fat girl in the tight clothes”… So we socialise with our friends at dinner parties and by going to restaurants mostly.  I have not been dancing (I love RnB music) for years, and that is something I really miss.

    Motivation to Diet

My motivation to lose weight this time is that I am tired of feeling different to everyone else. I am 30 this year and do not want to let life pass me by. I want to get married to my lovely, understanding, and infinitely patient fiancé in May and be proud to be the centre of attention with him, to accept the compliments without negating them, to have my wedding pictures taken and to cherish the memories of a happy day – not look back on it with regrets.

    Discovering Weight Loss Resources

My best friend’s Mum came across an article in a health magazine about 3 years ago and passed on the web address to me.

I was a bit sceptical at first about an on-line dieting service, but quickly realised that it was and is the best tool for anybody who is serious about losing weight. Had I not been so caught up in fad dieting over the past 3 years, with the promise of immediate results, I probably would have lost weight and kept it off with WLR.

    How Weight Loss Resources Helps

It is very easy to underestimate the amount of food you eat, and before coming back to using WLR regularly last September, my portion sizes had gotten very big!

I love cheese and pasta (and the accompanying red wine) and now realise that I was probably eating nearly a day’s calories in one evening meal… every evening!

It is really helpful to be able to plan out my week’s food and exercise using the food and exercise diaries. I now measure my food quantities and my portions are consequently much smaller.

I no longer feel bloated after eating, nor am I hungry during the day and forced to snack on rubbish, as my snacks are planned in! I can allow for occasional nights off with friends by upping my exercise and looking at the week’s plan rather than the day’s plan to see how many calories I have “banked”.

I would say the other great advantage of using WLR, which you could not achieve by simple calorie counting, is the information and support you can get from it. The message boards are great.

If you are feeling that you are losing the plot, you just post a message asking for help and when you next log on, there are guaranteed to be many messages waiting for you to help get you through!

Family and friends can provide a lot of support but they are bound to get a bit bored of it (especially when it’s been ongoing for years!) but with the number of people using WLR there is always someone there with fresh ideas and encouragement who’s really keen to help – and keen to congratulate your losses too! I cannot recommend this aspect of WLR enough!

Although I am applying the principals of the GI Diet to my eating, I know it is the guidance of WLR which is helping me lose weight and encouraging me to exercise – when you can see a direct correlation between how much you work out and how much you can eat, believe me, you work out more!! I feel fit and motivated and very positive about achieving my interim goal and my long term wedding weight loss goal!  I am also positive that, this time, the way I view food, exercise and my health has changed for good. I have realised that this diet is not a flash in the pan thing, it represents the way I should eat and live for the rest of my life.

    Emma’s Dieting Tips

I have several tips for other dieters:

    • Exercise as much as you can, in whatever form, as it’s good for your heart, a morale booster, and helps shed the pounds – join a club if you don’t think you’ll keep going by yourself. I joined a running club last year and I’m still going, which for me is great!
    • Drink lots of water, it keeps your body running properly and thirst can sometimes disguise itself as hunger.
    • Drink less alcohol, it’s not (always) worth the calories.
    • Do use the message boards because as well as keeping you going, they make you feel good because you are able to help and encourage other WLR members in return

WLR’s tools can help you get slim for a wedding and for life, because they really put you in control of your diet.
